High Expansion Bridge Plugs (HEX) Product Description

The High Expansion retrievable bridge plug (HEX), is the most versatile mechanical plug on the market. It has been designed to pass through extremely narrow wellbore restrictions (such as valves, nipples and straddles) and set in larger ID casing.

The HEX is ideally suited as a liner barrier for workover operations, avoiding unnecessary well kill operations which often result in near wellbore reservoir damage.

The ultra-slim design enables deployment and retrieval through narrow wellbore restrictions without the risks associated with inflatable packers. Efficiency is further enhanced by HEX plugs taking just one run to set and one to retrieve. The HEX portfolio has a wide range of plugs for 4 1/2” to 9 5/8” casings; a 2.7” OD plug can be set in 5” (4 1/2”) casing, a 2.8” HEX in 5 1/2” casing, a 3 1/2” HEX in 7” casing and a 5.2” HEX in 9 5/8” casing.

The innovative packer module includes petal-style backups which retain the single-piece elastomer and provide a tight radial barrier against the casing ID. During the HEX setting sequence the plug slips and a special adapter kit ensures centralisation of the plug prior to element expansion/compression. The plug series has been tested to differential pressures up to 275 bar (4000 psi) at temperatures up to 110°C (230°F) and is qualified in accordance with the ISO 14310:2008 international standard up to validation grade V0.

Applications
The HEX bridge plug can be used as a temporary or permanent barrier where there is a need for extreme expansion. The element and slip modules have been designed to withstand bidirectional pressure which allows the plug to be set in cross flow.

High Pressure, High Temperature Bridge Plugs (HPHT) Product Description

The patented High Pressure High Temperature retrievable bridge plug (HPHT) contains an innovative seal module which both compresses and constrains the element, enabling it to withstand extreme differential pressures.

The slim design reduces the risk of deployment and retrieval through narrow wellbore restrictions, a crucial operation benefit. Efficiency is further enhanced by each plug taking just one run to set and one to retrieve. With a range of plug sizes for 3 ½” to 7 ⅝” casing, it is an ideal barrier solution for HPHT wells.

The plug series has been tested to differential pressures up to 1030 bar (15000 psi)* at temperatures up to 200°C (390°F)* and is qualified in accordance with the ISO 14310:2008 international standard up to validation grade V0.
*Applies to some sizes of HPHT plugs. Contact Interwell for details

Applications
The HPHT bridge plug can be used as a temporary or permanent barrier. The element and slip modules have been designed to withstand bi-directional pressure which allows the plug to be set in cross flow. The HPHT plug can be run as an isolation plug or a packer and can incorporate junk extensions and/or equalising devices.

Medium Expansion Bridge Plug (ME) Product Description

The Medium Expansion Bridge Plug (ME) is a high performance bridge plug /packer which features a solid elastomeric element, a robust anchoring module and an internal junk extension. The plug series has been tested to differential pressures up to 345 bar (5000 psi) at temperatures up to 121°C (250°F) and is qualified in accordance with the ISO 14310:2008 international standard up to validation grade V0.

Applications
The ME bridge plug can be used as a temporary or permanent barrier. The element and slip modules have both been designed to withstand bi-directional pressure which allows the plug to be set in cross flow. The ME can be run as an isolation plug with the option of incorporating a Junk Extension, or it can be run as a packer with or without equalising.
